How to join SERCA

SERCA welcomes membership from conservators and students who are passionate about building a career in preservation and conservation (see Membership Directory Eligibility below).

Current annual membership is valid through December 31, 2025. To join SERCA or renew your existing membership, please begin by registering your email. Once you’re able to log in, complete the online SERCA Membership Form and submit your payment. Please also consider making a donation to the Leonora Weaver Scholarship fund.

Don’t forget—your membership isn’t complete until you’ve submitted both the form and your payment. If you pay online through PayPal, you should receive a confirmation email. No email means no payment!

Payment of annual membership dues of $25.00 can be submitted by credit card VIA PayPal after submitting your form or by mailing a check payable to SERCA to:

Brittany Dinneen, SERCA Treasurer
Michael C. Carlos Museum
Emory University 571 S Kilgo Circle
Atlanta, GA 30322

After we receive your payment, we aim to publish your listing within the next month.

If you have any other questions about membership, please contact us at communications@sercaconservation.org

Join SERCA

At SERCA, we value inclusivity and strive to foster a welcoming community of conservation professionals. However, we also recognize the importance of maintaining high standards. To ensure that our directory reflects the professionalism and integrity of our field, all listed members must meet specific eligibility criteria.Eligibility

To be considered for inclusion in the SERCA directory, applicants must meet at least one of the following:

  • Completion of a degree (minimum two years) from a recognized conservation program
  • Active AIC membership with PA
  • Submission of a portfolio showcasing conservation work, accompanied by three recommendation letters from established professionals in the field
  • Proof of attendance at three or more SERCA meetings

These requirements help ensure that listed conservators demonstrate a clear commitment to the field and uphold a baseline of professional credibility.

Once you submit your membership/listing application, you will receive a follow-up email requesting documentation for at least one of the eligibility requirements listed above. Please respond to that email with the necessary details to complete your application.

All listing applications are reviewed and approved by SERCA’s Board of Directors to maintain transparency, consistency, and alignment with our mission.
