Amanda Nuckles has been an intern at South Florida Art Conservation since February 2025. She has her bachelor’s degree in Art History and Classical Studies and is pursuing the field of Art Conservation for her graduate degree. She is interested in paper and painting conservation and restoration, and has successfully worked on conservation projects under the tutelage of Amparo Escolano and Jeronimo Perez.

The first Conservation/Restoration project in which Amparo Escolano worked was in 1979. Since then, she has been working non-stop in the Conservation/Restoration field. She moved to Florida and has been working in the Palm Beach area from 2003 to date. College trained and museum educated, she has a strong specialization in papers and paintings conservation and restoration.
She Is a Professional Associate (peer reviewed) of the American Institute for Conservation AIC

Kimberly has nearly 20 years of experience with both terrestrial and submerged finds from excavations in North Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Turkey. She previously served as the Head Conservator for the Institute of Nautical Archaeology in Bodrum, Turkey. She also teaches a graduate level course in archaeological conservation at East Carolina University and serves on the NC Preservation Consortium board of directors.
